About Pastors Angie & James Rice
Pastors Angie and James Rice are the founders and co-pastors of Cornerstone Church in Charleston, West Virginia. With over 46 years of faithful Christian service, their heart is to create a welcoming place where people can encounter God, find hope, and experience genuine community.
The Rices recently purchased the beautiful historic church building located at 317 Washington Street West in Charleston, where Cornerstone Church will now call home. After years of prayer, preparation, and following God’s direction, they believe this new season is a divine calling to serve the city of Charleston and surrounding communities.
Pastor Angie Rice spent 20 years in elementary education before retiring from the school system. She later became the owner and operator of an event center where she served as an event coordinator, designer, and caterer. Angie is also the author of the book “I Have a Mustard Seed and I’m Not Afraid to Use It.” In 2020, she was credentialed as a licensed Evangelist with the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee, and has been actively evangelizing for the past six years.
Pastor James Rice is a respected business owner involved in the coal mining industry and real estate investments. Together, Angie and James have served faithfully in ministry, community outreach, and leadership throughout southern West Virginia for decades.
The Rice family has deep roots in ministry and community service. They faithfully attended West Logan Church of God for 35 years and later Fountain of Life Worship Center in Madison, WV for the past 11 years. They have also served on several community boards in Logan County and remain passionate about helping others both inside and outside the church walls.
Angie and James reside in Foster, Boone County, WV, and are blessed with a loving family, including their two children, grandchildren, and daughter-in-law.
Their vision for Cornerstone Church is simple: to build a Christ-centered church where people from every background can gather, grow in faith, experience God’s love, and discover purpose. They are excited for what God is beginning in Charleston and look forward to growing together with the community in faith, hope, and love.

Who We Are
We are a Pentecostal-Spirit filled Christianity, who seeks to reflect the practices of the New Testament church. We believe in the empowering presence and all spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit, as described in the Bible, including speaking in tongues.
Mission
The primary mission of Cornerstone Church, in affiliation with the Church of God, headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee, is to communicate the full gospel of Jesus Christ, in the Spirit and power of Pentecost, with a strong focus on world evangelization, mutual discipleship, church planting and empowerment of believers.
Vision
Cornerstone Church envisions itself as a Spirit-filled, Christ centered, global movement, dedicated to; glorifying God and fulfilling the Great Commission, to every generation, while maintaining the full gospel, (the complete message) of Jesus Christ, through evangelism, discipleship, and lively and energetic worship.
